06C-12000 Self-Cleaning Magnetic Separator for Removing Iron Impurities from Spherical Silicon Micropowder

In June 2024, 10 units of the 06C-12000 self-cleaning magnetic separators were packaged and prepared for shipment to silicon micropowder manufacturers. These magnetic separators are mainly used for the preparation of spherical silicon micropowder. The machine is based on our company’s self-developed patented technology and has undergone several iterations and upgrades. It effectively removes fine impurities from silicon micropowder. Over 300 units of this product have been sold to China, Japan, the United States, and other overseas countries.

Applications of Spherical Silicon Micropowder

Spherical silicon micropowder is primarily used in integrated circuit packaging. It also has applications in high-tech fields such as aerospace, fine chemicals, rewritable optical discs, large electronic substrates, special ceramics, and daily-use cosmetics.

In addition, spherical silicon micropowder is used in rubber products as a reinforcing agent or conductive agent, enhancing the mechanical strength and electrical conductivity of rubber. It also acts as a stabilizer and anti-aging agent, extending the product’s lifespan. In the coatings industry, spherical silicon micropowder increases the thickness and density of coatings, improving coverage and durability. It also provides good thixotropy and fluidity, making it easier to apply. In pharmaceuticals and daily-use cosmetics, spherical silicon micropowder can be used as a filler or thickener, making cosmetics smoother and easier to absorb.

As an inorganic non-metallic material, spherical silicon micropowder possesses unique physical and chemical properties such as high heat resistance, high insulation, low linear expansion coefficient, and good thermal conductivity. It is widely used in copper-clad laminates, epoxy resin encapsulants, electrical insulation materials, adhesives, ceramics, coatings, and other fields. These properties make it crucial in industries like consumer electronics, home appliances, mobile communications, automotive, aerospace, defense, and wind power generation.

Production Technology of Spherical Silicon Micropowder

The production technology of spherical silicon micropowder uses inexpensive, high-quality natural quartz minerals as the primary raw material. The preparation methods mainly include physical, chemical, and physicochemical methods. Among them, physical preparation methods include flame spheroidization, high-temperature molten spraying, plasma methods, and high-temperature calcination spheroidization. Chemical preparation methods include vapor-phase, hydrothermal synthesis, self-propagating low-temperature combustion, sol-gel, precipitation, and microemulsion methods. Currently, there are three main technological paths for large-scale production of spherical silicon micropowder: flame-melted spherical silicon micropowder, direct combustion/VMC method spherical silicon micropowder, and chemically synthesized spherical silicon micropowder. High-end markets, such as integrated circuit packaging, predominantly use flame or ion-flame methods to produce amorphous spherical silicon micropowder.

Global Market and Key Players

The global silicon micropowder market is dominated by Japan, with three companies—Toray, Denka, and Nippon Steel—holding over 70% of the market share. Yadoma Company has a significant position in the market for spherical silicon micropowder under 1 micron due to its advanced technology. Representative spherical silicon micropowder companies in China include Lianrui New Materials and Yake Technology.

Japanese companies are particularly experienced in the silicon micropowder market, especially in the high-tech and electronic-grade silicon micropowder markets, where they possess a first-mover advantage. Leading Japanese firms have long occupied a dominant position in the technology of spherical silicon micropowder. In recent years, Japanese manufacturers have adjusted their product focus by reducing production capacity and R&D investment in flame-melted spherical silicon and focusing their resources on the VMC method and other spherical silicon types. The flame-melted spherical silicon micropowder market is now primarily dominated by Chinese manufacturers.

Features of the 06C-12000 Self-Cleaning Magnetic Separator

The 06C-12000 Self-Cleaning Magnetic Separator produced by our company has the following features:

  1. The iron removal cleaning interval can be set according to customer requirements, effectively ensuring iron removal efficiency.
  2. The machine is controlled by a PLC system with a touchscreen input for automatic control.
  3. The standard series has a surface magnetic field strength of 12000-13000GS, with a working temperature of ≤100°C. The surface magnetic force is greater than 12000GS and is primarily used for purifying high-purity spherical silicon micropowder, thoroughly removing iron impurities above 80 mesh.
  4. Equipped with a viewing window, allowing effective observation to ensure that the magnetic impurities are completely removed from the magnetic tube, ensuring iron removal efficiency and product purity.
  5. Non-standard designs are available to meet different customer requirements.
